Brutal Bronko brings U11's back with a bang!

The Under 11’s had a great first session back at Hoe Lane on Sunday, with a mix of returning and new players there were just over 30 kids back on the U11’s pitch.
We started off with a some of fun, splitting in to two groups and playing a spot of rugby netball, throwing the ball around for them to firstly get used to each other, as many of them hadn’t seen each other for six months, and secondly to remind them of how to handle a rugby ball as many hadn’t managed to pick up our beloved egg shaped ball for a while.
After this, a quick stretch, we got down to some fitness getting the lads to complete a full Bronco, which is a pretty tough set of shuttle runs, totalling a distance of 1200m and the lads loved it! Well sort of, but the parents definitely enjoyed it from the side lines.
Breaking off into games of touch rugby, a little bit of handling in between in 10 minute segments, then back into touch rugby followed by a bit of kicking, as they are all eager to do so now that they are allowed and a big game to finish.
A social distancing huddle concluded a great session filled with lots of laughing and giggling all in all, the U11’s had a cracking morning for our return to rugby.
