Club Vice Presidents
VICE PRESIDENTS
Being elected a Vice President at Hertford RFC is a recognition by the Club's Board of Management of the services and time dedicated by a Club Member for a role performed within the Club, be it on or off the pitch.
Vice Presidents are elected annually at the Club's AGM. Nominations and reasons for making a Club Member a Vice President should be submitted in writing to the Club Chair by the end of April.
At the AGM, held at the Club on 11th July 2023, the following VP nominations were approved:
- Senior Section: Michael Sargent & Stephen Ruff
- Youth Section: Lucy Hunter & Richard Hunter
- Minis Section: Will Davies, Tom Britten, Verity Thomas-James, Matt Bloomfield, Chris Thompson, Neil Survilla & Jim Long
Vice Presidents do not have to pay a specific VP Membership Fee but instead are requested to make a donation. As a guideline, it is suggested that this should be for at least the equivalent amount of the Club Membership Fee, which for the 2023/24 season is £75, but all amounts are gratefully received and appreciated!
These donations provide a vital source of income to the Club, and it should be stressed that all this income goes towards the Club's general running expenses. They also greatly assist the Club's cashflow at the beginning of the season when there is a significant amount of expenses to be covered.
As a thank you for their donations the Vice Presidents are invited to an exclusive annual lunch held before a 1st XV home league game. For the 2023/24 season the lunch has been fixed for Saturday, 30th September s lunch 2023 when Shelford visit Hoe Lane. An invitation to this lunch was included in the newsletter that was sent out to the VP’s by email on the 10th August.
VP ties can be purchased from the Club's shop. There is also a range of leisure clothing featuring the full Club logo or a small discreet "Stag & Posts" logo.
Donations can be made as follows:
1. Place cash in a envelope marked with your name and @VP Donation" and hand in to the bar;
2. Online via the GMS. Logon and select Buy Membership the select 'Senior Section VP Membership. This is set at £75 but the amount you wish to pay can be overridden at checkout. 3. Or contact Bunter for the club's bank account details to pay via back transfer or by cheque to his home address.
