Hertford started the game going up the hill and things began brightly with the forwards running phases and Max controlling things well at fly half .
Following on from a couple of hard runs from the forwards Aaron found some space on the left wing and showed a clean pair of heels to go clear and finish under the posts .
The boys carried on playing well with Benji and Sam putting in big tackles in the backs to ensure that OGs didn’t get back into the game quickly .
Fred made great yards off a short ball and following more good phases Aaron showed his speed and strength to go over again .
OGs regrouped and their winger scored a breakaway try but our heads didn’t go down .
We turned around and with the wind at our backs carried on where we left off .
Aaron crashed over for a well deserved hatrick and the game turned a bit ugly .
We kept playing our rugby though with forwards and backs interlinking well and Brem standing tall in the face of some unnecessary provocation
Aston finished off the scoring breaking free and trotting in under the sticks and that was game over .
Hertford are a team that doesn’t back down and the Wednesday night sessions have created both a great brand of rugby to watch and a real togetherness in the group which was a pleasure to see .
For me it was their best performance this year .
Onwards and upwards
