Good news to start the week.

I am very pleased to be able to bring some good news on the progress of Graeme Walters following his stroke 10 days ago.

Having made good progress whilst in hospital he was allowed home on Friday. Clive Mann and Eric Riddle both went to see Graeme yesterday and below is a quote from a note I received from Clive this morning.

“I went round to see Vinny yesterday and he is making excellent progress. He is slowly regaining strength in his arm , but to my absolute shock and delight was able to walk a few steps unaided !
Eric had proceeded me and given Maggs the £550 he collected on Saturday, and I attach the receipt for its transfer to the Stroke Association. Graeme and Maggy wanted to say a huge thanks for all the get well messages and offers of help received from friends and members. They have both been very touched and moved by peoples responses and support.”

For those that weren’t at the game Saturday, Eric did a touchline ‘bucket’ collection at half time and received £550 in a few minutes. Eric also made special mention of our ‘basement boys’ team, ‘The Termites’ who donated £55 from their beer kitty! (Can there be any greater sacrifice!) Well done lads.

This is truly great news to start the week with and let’s hope it’s not too long before we can welcome ‘Vinny’ back to the ‘Muppet box’
