Sunday proved a tough day for many for different reasons - to those nursing a sore head after my early 50th Birthday celebration on Saturday at the club, thank you for making what I remember of the day very special!
On the rugby pitch both sides faced solid and determined opposition and both teams produced some brilliant rugby.
While Hertford A gave up a handsome early lead to have to chase the game and snatch back a converted try to draw the game; Hertford B were up against a strong Welwyn side who were always just a small step ahead of us.
Hertford B scored some excellent tries and what was particularly pleasing was seeing them scored out wide with our wings.
Hertford A allowed Chess Valley too much ball and for the middle third of the fixture allowed the match to be dictated to them. Both sides looked strong at the set piece which is a positive sign.
On the downside we suffered a number of injuries - would be very useful if I could have an update on the boys who were injured - especially George Murray and Alfie Owen who both went to A&E for an X-Ray, George Giblett will be out for 3 weeks minimum with a concussion and I wait to hear on Hayden Wills - also a head injury. We also have Riley Butler out with a knee injury so the sick notes are piling up! Speedy recovery boys
This week will be a training week; Weds 8-9.30pm and Sunday 10-12am - plenty to work on!
