Even though they retired to Norfolk many years ago they were still regular visitors to Hoe Lane, although in recent years Brenda's illness curtailed the frequency of those visits.

From an era when after match teas were provided by the 'WAG's' (although I would not have dared to call her that!) she will be remembered for much more than that.

Win or lose you could always be sure of a supportive and encouraging word from Brenda, together with a smile and occasional sharp witticism, a quality she has certainly passed on to the next generations.

Our condolences go out to children Jeremy and Anna and the rest of Clan Goodacre.

Brenda's funeral will be on Friday 9th September at 1pm at Woollensbrook Crematorium and afterwards at the Hertford RFC.
