'Hodder' played his Rugby in the social sides at 'Old Hertfordians' and was a 'leg break' spin bowler for Hertford Cricket club. He also ran the Old Hertfordians Golf Society.

Our thoughts are with his devoted wife Sandra, daughter Claire, and the rest of his family.

A great supporter of the Rugby Club, he would be seen at every 1st XV game, home or away.

In recent years I have been the recipient of many little chats from 'Hodder' and can therefore vouch for how passionately he felt about HRFC and I had great respect for the way he made his point in a polite and understated yet determined way.

Despite poor health over the last couple of years he still managed to make most games and at the last game of last season said to me, "All I want is one more season"

Sadly it wasn't to be but as we embark on that "one more season" I hope the rest of the club will join me in saying " Hodder, this one's for you mate". RIP.
