The club will mark Remembrance Sunday with a short service on the main pitch. This year also marks the 100th Anniversary of the end World War I.

Following are the arrangements for Remembrance Sunday on Sunday 11th November 2018. With a number of visiting teams, age groups are asked to ensure our visitors are aware of these arrangements.

Age groups should also have received their 'stick on' poppy badges. All profits to go to the Poppy Appeal. Contact your age group admin for details.

The club will mark Remembrance Sunday with a short service on the main pitch. This year marks also the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice when, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the guns of Europe fell silent to end World War I.

All age groups should gather on the main pitch in a semi circle facing the club house by 10:55.

The short service will commence precisely at 10:58.

10:58 Sounding of the Last Post followed by the Exhortation
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them."

All will respond "We will remember them"

11:00 Two Minutes Silence

11:02 Sounding of Reveille and the Dedication
"When you go home, tell them of us and say. For their tomorrow, We gave our Today".

Many thanks to:
- Jo Moore for organising
- Charles Stringer, past Club President, for reading the Exhortation and Dedication. Charlie is a holder of the Atlantic Star for service in the Battle of the Atlantic in World War II.
- Paul Neilson, 5th XV player, mini and youth coach & veteran, for playing the Last Post and Reveille
