We were incredibly saddened to learn this week of the passing of another Vice
President, Peter Tyler.
Known to some as ‘the bloke who ran the shop’, Peter was so much more. He was
an active member and administrator of the ‘Hertford Patrons Club’, raising vital funds
for HRFC, and his business are not only kit suppliers, but also active sponsors of the
club.
His conversion to becoming a ‘Hertfordian’, was cemented when his son Sam
became a player, but remained long after Sam’s retirement from the game.
His love of sport extended beyond the egg-shaped ball and he was also involved in
local cricket.
His rye sense of humour was not always picked up on by some but I always found a
post-match debrief with Peter , both informative and entertaining.
Upon his full(ish) retirement he moved to Norfolk so he has not been a regular
visitor for a few years.
He will be sadly missed and out condolences go to his wife Lynda, Children, Sam,
Sophie and their families.
Rest well old friend.
