167 Hertford players and support staff descended on Weston Super Mare last weekend... Under 7's to Under 12's were represented. The Minis Tour began with an epic coach journey for the U11's and various car journeys. A multitude of 'Snitches' kept me up to date on progress and from the pictures and videos of the coach journey? It was an event!
Some of the support staff opted for caravans and the first night proved that to be a wise call... The campers endured sub zero temperatures and I was regaled with stories of frozen tents and experiences of cold never known before. Despite this everyone was still very up beat and the experiences kept coming...
The rugby was excellent and the players represented all that is good about our club... Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship (TREDS). The level of Rugby was very high and we watched some incredible displays of rugby that we hadn't seen before... Hertford should be proud of their Minis section they represented the club well.
One of the support team said after the games - "I'm going to get our water from Canterbury from now on" they were massive!
Beyond the Rugby the players did all you would expect on a tour "Skittles!" bewildered locals looked on as players and support staff hit the floor in a well executed movement... "Lava!" walls people lampposts were climbed to get off the floor to avoid perishing...
We missed those that didn't tour and look forward to them joining us next year... We made enduring friendships and memories... we learned stuff... we belong to Hertford RFC and we are 'One Club'.
