The Club will be saddened to hear of the death of Joyce Ashley, Vice President, earlier this month. Joyce had a long involvement with Old Hertfordians Rugby Club and latterly Hertford RFC, firstly as the sister of OHRFC club stalwarts and Hon. Life Vice Presidents, Dick and Roy Crook and then through her marriage to Peter Ashley a 1st XV Vice Captain in the 50s & 60s. She was also one of Vera Hodges’ exceptional tea ladies. Her last visit to the Club was in 2017 when a plaque was unveiled in memory of all the work Dick and Roy Crook undertook in creating our new clubhouse back in 1967. We pass on our condolences to the Crook and Ashley families at this sad time.
