The funeral will be held at Harwood Park Crematorium on April 4, 2024, at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, who played a critical role in the final hours of Graham’s life.

We are sad to announce the loss of club supporter and Vice President Graham Gard, at the age of 58.

‘Gardy’ played for the Black Horse RFC in his younger days before crossing the A10 to Hoe lane.

Arriving as a centre, we saw his talents were more suited to the forwards where his long limbs were put to good use catching the ball in lineouts.

Happy to play in the social sides he was also willing to put a shift in at the top end when asked where he used his centre skills to show seconds rows can pass a ball as well.

An osteopath by profession, many club members will remember his constant smile as he ‘clicked and bashed’ various parts of their anatomy back into place.

He is survived by his two daughters, Katie and Louisa and our condolences go out to them.

He served the club well and will be missed.
