Better known for his 'day Job' as a GP at Wallace House in Hertford before his retirement, Jack 'moonlighted' (unpaid of course) at weekends as our club doctor for many years.

When some clubs still relied on a man with a bucket and sponge, we were incredibly lucky to have someone of his expertise. I believe he also enjoyed the role, which he carried out with just the right amount of concern and compassion when required and the right amount of medical humour when appropriate. ( it was acceptable in those days.)

His association with Hertford may have started with his roll of loving and supportive Dad to Jon and Carrie but like many we found him an extra job to suit his talents and we will be forever grateful for his valuable contribution.

His proved his dedication to Hertford RFC by having a Hertford Tattoo on his arm whilst on tour at the Benidorm 7’s. Luckily it was only a Henna tattoo which he thought would wash of next day and not last for many weeks. His wife Rosemary did forgive him, eventually!

The club send their condolences to his wife Rosemary, Jon, Carrie and the rest of the Eames family.

Jacks funeral will be at 11.30 on Friday 20th December at Haileybury College Chapel.
