To celebrate our connection with nature, we are inviting the Hertford Rugby club community to help create some wonderful ideas to help brighten a local electricity box in Hoe Lane. For your chance to win a workshop with the brilliant Donna Reeves, please put pens to paper and send us a drawing of what you would like to see on the cabinet box with the theme of nature & wildlife.
As a proud sign of the connection between Hertford Rugby Club and nature, we are delighted to have our wonderful mascot, Hartley the Stag. Nature plays a big part in our game, from the fresh green grass beneath our boots to the hedges and trees that surround the pitch. These spaces are home to birds, insects, and small animals, creating a lively backdrop to every match. While players give their all on the field and families cheer from the sidelines, nature quietly shares the experience with us. Changing with the seasons, welcoming everyone outdoors, and reminding us that rugby is a game best enjoyed together, in the open air. Think of some of the natural spaces we have in Ware and the wildlife that is all around us.
This love of nature is something rugby shares all around the world. Many teams choose animals to represent them, such as the Lions, Springboks, Wallabies, and Rhinos. These animals remind us of teamwork, bravery, and strength, values that are at the heart of rugby and are especially important to our Hertford Rugby Club family.
This opportunity is open to everyone and every entry will be entered into a prize draw, where someone will win a workshop with Donna Reeves and a rugby ball. Please do not worry about the quality of your drawing, Donna is after your ideas as she will collect the ideas and merge them together to make a final design. Then, she will be painting the cabinet box this summer. We thought it would be fun for you to be involved as you probably walk and drive past it on your way to the club. Please hand your entries into the bar before Monday 27th April or email a copy across to andbydonnareeves@gmail.com.
Thank you so much for your help.
