It’s fair to say all at Hertford were disappointed and frustrated at last week’s narrow defeat to CS Stags, when a bit of luck with the final kick of the game would have left all with a smile.
On a positive note we are creating more team try opportunities than we were early season and now just need to convert those into points.
The impetuosity of youth was certainly partially responsible on a few occasions when control was lost close to and even over the try line. But no one is more aware of that than the players and coaching staff.
The desire, camaraderie and right attitude amongst the boys is there in spades and in this league where pretty much any result is possible, that is half the battle.
That attitude is summed up for me by our young flanker Callum McGurk, who again this week travels back from University in Newcastle to pull on the shirt, Thank you Callum.
This week sees the rescheduled fixture with our old adversaries from across the county, Tring.
The early season fixture saw us outgunned in the set piece but still well in the game after 60 minute only to see Tring run out worthy winners.
Skipper Josh Corcoran misses out after last weeks nasty head knock but thankfully no major damage.
Scrum half Hale, who can’t seem to shake of a nasty dead leg from a few weeks ago, make way for Dom Merret and the long term injured Arun Johal Returns on the wing as Rudling moves back to his favoured centre as the coaches also try and rest the battered Harry Cavlan.
So, we go again, and we ask for your support which rally is appreciated by the lads and it does make a difference.
