Training this week, tour and please confirm your commitment to 2019/20 U16 season

This is my last weekly update of the 2018/19 Season.

The U15 squad had a busy Saturday at the Twickenham 10-a-side tournament with two mixed sides delivering very creditable results in spite of last minute no-shows and the boys worked really well together.

Training Weds 1st May
Our final training session of the season will take place on Wednesday 18:30-20:00. Our focus this week will be on getting the touring side options together, some tour plays so please can tourists make every effort to attend.

Tour
We depart for tour in Great Yarmouth on Friday at 14:15 sharp, please do try to arrive at least 30 min before our departure time in order for us to pack the coach.
If, for any reason you are running late, please get in touch with me on 07990 561347 to warn me otherwise we will leave you behind and you'll need to make your own arrangements.

Awards Day
Awards day will take place on Sunday 12th May likely to be around midday.

U16 - IMPORTANT ACTION REQUIRED
As we transition into U16 we will have some decisions to make about the age group - specifically, we will need to revisit whether we continue run two sides in the Herts Middlesex League or not. This will be based on the number of players in the age group who participate regularly. To enable us to make this decision and in order to inform the league I am seeking a commitment to the 2019/20 season from you by Sunday 19th May - there will be a final Pitchero selection published this week for Sunday 19th May, if you list as available we will include your son in the count for next season. I sincerely hope that your son chooses to return to Hertford Rugby Club U16s

Happily I can report that both sides have remained in the same league as this season for 2019/20, Hertford A now guaranteed a finishing place of no worse than 5th place (with 6 and 7 relegated).

We also have 3 boys joining us from the current U16 squad and having watched them in the County Finals on Sunday I'm confident that they will be a great addition to strengthen our squad.

Pre-season training
Pre-season training will commence on Weds 24th July 18:30-20:00 and will run through the rest of July and August on a Wednesdays and Sundays 10:30-12:00.

I'll be getting some external Strength and Conditioning coaching support for the squad.

In the meantime it would be great to hear that boys are using the gym during the off season and keeping fit.
