HERTFORD RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

MINI RUGBY SECTION
Mini rugby at Hertford RFC covers under 7's through to under 12's. Our emphasis is on enjoyable, safe rugby for all, but that has not stopped our teams
winning at many tournaments and festivals. We follow the RFU continuum under which the game is introduced in stages, starting with non contact tag rugby for the
U7 and U8 groups. Contact rugby, with scrums and lineouts (initially uncontested) starts at U9 level, and at U11 level kicking is introduced. The aim is to develop boys and girls in a safe
and controlled manner, and to prepare them for the 15-a-side game at youth level (U13 and upwards).
All age groups have RFU qualified coaches, all of whom are CRB checked as are our first aiders and administrators. Most age groups run two or three
teams, so competitive matches are possible for all players. Please for details of the Hertford RFC Child Protection Policy.
The season starts on the first weekend of September and runs through to the last Sunday of April. Training days are interspersed with competitive fixtures
against local (and some not so local) clubs. This season's fixture list is detailed below. Training at Hoe Lane starts at 10.00 for most age groups (10.30 for
U7 and U8) and typically ends at 12.00-12.30. New players are welcomed at all age-groups. At under 7 level players must be in school year 1 or 2, but only those
who have reached their 6th birthday can take part in matches. A parent or guardian must stay at the ground at all times, either pitch-side or in the warm in the
club house where tea and coffee are normally available during the morning.
Players and spectators are expected to adhere to our code of conduct which emphasises the traditional values of rugby including respect for officials
and opposition players.

Hertford RFC Sponsorship Programme
Initiated in 1999, the HRFC sponsorship programme has steadily grown from half a dozen participants to currently over eighty. The income generated
is absolutely vital to a club that has the volume of membership we have at Hertford.
Sponsors are very diverse, with many local businesses, large and small, joining multinational groups in support. We have seen a good deal of interactive
business created as a result of the programme and it is our policy to encourage sponsors and club members to use those businesses that support the club wherever possible.
Financially each proposal is dealt with and tailored individually to suit the particular sponsor, but as a guide most enjoy:
• Ground perimeter board advertising
• Advertisements in annual fixture card
• Advertisements in all home league and cup games
• Acknowledgements in clubhouse
• Hospitality at lunches
• Honoury club membership
We also welcome service sponsorship, where by people or companies can offer sponsorship via input other than purely monetary. For example, building
trades, printers, taxi firms and many more - have services always welcome at the club.
