We are a sociable and friendly team who just love playing rugby. Players vary in age and playing standard from complete novice to veterans. This season we have been promoted to National Challenge 2: South East East division after our convincing league victory in the 2006/2007 season. National Challenge 2 comprises of clubs from Hertfordshire and Essex. Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19:30. Feel free to come along to watch or join in.
So what can Hertford Rugby Club offer?
Hertford is a friendly, family orientated club with a strong links to the community. We have 5 pitches, flood light training areas, changing and shower facilities and more importantly a good club house and bar! The men’s section has 6 teams and there is also an excellent mini midi and youth section. Our men’s first team currently play in National 3 London & SE so there is always a good standard of rugby being played at Hertford. Ladies fixtures are scheduled for Sundays (although not every week) and the season generally runs from September to April. Click Here to go to Ladies 2010/2011 Fixture List. Gum shield and boots will be required for the season training and matches.

Newcomers to the sport are welcome to come along and try it out. Now is a good time to start !
Previous rugby experience is not required as we have competent coaches to ensure you learn all the skills and rules of the game. All you need is enthusiasm and a liking for mud! Age, speed and size don't matter, as the beauty of rugby is that there is a position to suit everyone. Training takes place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 19:30.
